Ashi-Thai (on the massage table)

Stretch Therapy / Thai Massage (on the floor mat)

…Either way, it’s “Yoga for the lazy!”

Everyone needs to stretch, but we never make time for it. Stretching and massage therapy have been proven beneficial for many chronic conditions such as back pain, arthritis, bursitis, fatigue, high blood pressure, diabetes, immunity suppression, infertility, smoking cessation, depression and more. Why not combine your deep tissue massage with some stretches? Thai massage is jokingly known as the Lazy mans yoga, since you just lie down, focus on your breathing, and comfortably receive delicious stretches — We do all the work for you as we stretch you into the poses! Are you ready to become a bendy pretzel? When was the last time you could touch your toes?

What is Stretch Therapy?

Stretch Therapy is an expression of traditional Thai massage techniques and exercises, where the therapist maneuvers your limbs into deep relaxing stretches. Assisted stretching is applied throughout the session, helping to release spasm, muscle contraction and tension, always working within your perfect range of pressure and stretch. Imagine taking a nap while your body subconsciously takes a yoga class on its own!

How does it work?

In an Thai Massage session, the client relaxes on a comfortable massage table or floor mat (like a futon mattress!) while the therapist uses their feet to deliver the massage and apply deep stretches. The advantage of this massage — both for the client and the therapist — is that these massages allow gravity to do the work, leveraging the therapists’ body weight to provide a depth and leverage unmatched by other techniques.

What will a session feel like?

This style is performed without any oils or creams, and requires the client to wear loose flexible clothing, allowing the therapist to stretch the client’s passive body beyond its holding patterns. The client relaxes and will feel many gentle compression’s along lines of muscle tension. With each long, slow stretch the client will feel the stress, pain and tension melt away. Thai massage revitalizes the body, mind and soul leaving the client deeply centered and at peace.

Is Stretch Therapy for you?

Clients of every age and size can benefit from this massage, famous for back and hip pain relief, increased flexibility, and deep relaxation. Thai Massage is an effective bodywork treatment for all types of athletic injuries. Most clients report significant decreases pain and significant increases in range of motion and athletic performance.
