Texas state ~did technically~ allow Massage Therapy to reopen as of 5/18/2020 HOWEVER Heeling Sole is not ready.  I still do not feel 100% sure that it is a good idea to reopen so quickly – being in a room together for an hour or more dramatically increases the risk of transmission.

If any of our sasquatches show symptoms, they’ll have to be sent home, leaving us short-staffed for the day. If any of those Sasquatches test positive, they would be off the schedule for 2-8 weeks or more, and we would have to contact trace every client who came into Heeling Sole during that person’s shift(s). If any of our sasquatches families or housemates show symptoms, need help at home, or test positive, then the same things happens: they won’t be here at work.  As specialty massage therapists, I can’t just hire any LMT off the street to fill their spots, either – so besides being safer and preventing more possible transmissions, it’s also less stressful and cheaper on the business if we delay our reopening a bit longer.

Projected reopening in July sometime – possibly. Our Membership clients and those who were scheduled sometime during the break will be contacted first so they get the chance to schedule first. When we do reopen, we will be requiring all clients to wear a facemask while you are in the office (except when you are facedown on the massage table, we have a hack for that!)
